I would be of the opinion that this is a rarely visited memorial, being somewhat off the beaten track.
On the right of the Canadian line 1st Division had a lot of open territory to cover and the position of this cross serves well in highlighting the difference in terrain for the four Canadian Divisions.
To reach it, you need to go in to Thélus and then turn to the right along the D49 towards Bailleul-Sir-Berthoult.
The cross is then on your right hand side just after Bois Carré British Cemetery.

This small cross is tucked away in the trees within the Canadian Memorial Park.
To reach it, take the road off to the right when travelling between the Trenches and the Monument. This takes you out to the area where La Folie Farm was situated and where the 3rd Division saw a lot of fighting.
There is a sign about 250 metres along the road, but you could easily miss it. It is difficult to find a suitable parking spot immediately nearby so continue on a little further and walk back.
La Folie Farm was the main objective of the 3rd Division and had been turned into a fortress position by its German defenders.
This brick built monument is dedicated to the gunners of the Canadian Field and Garrison Artillery as well as those from the British and South African Artillery units that served alongside them.
It is situated at the crossroads in the centre of Thélus on the N17 and will be seen if you come in off the autoroute.
The monument was unveiled by the Canadian's Corps Commander: General Julian Byng, in April 1918.
If you look opposite the monument at the traffic lights you will see that there is also a small laneway as well as the main thoroughfares.
This lane will take you down to the Lichfield Crater Cemetery if you are feeling brave - I have mentioned to visitors that I once managed to actually miss the cemetery whilst concentrating on the state of the road.
