Anzac Day 2013

It was with some trepidation that the regular visitors to Anzac Day approached the Australian Memorial. In 2012 we had been spared rain during the Dawn Service but that was about all that could be said in favour of the weather.

This year, whilst a little chilly, the wind stayed away and the temperature remained positive.

Major General David Chalmers AO CSC acted as Master of Ceremonies and the welcoming address was given by the Australian Ambassador to France : HE Mr Ric Wells.

The Call to Remembrance was given by Air Marshal Geoff Brown AO, Chief of Air Force, Australia. The reply on behalf of the French Government was given by M. Kader Arif, Ministre délégué chargé des Anciens Combattants.
