Machy Churchyard
Location
Machy is a small village near to Crécy en Ponthieu in the Département of the Somme. From the main Abbeville-Boulogne road (D 1001) or Crécy village take the D 938 which is the coastal road.
The church is easily located at a sharp S bend. There is room for a vehicle to park at the front gate (direction towards Crécy)

Historical Information
Machy Churchyard contains two Commonwealth burials of the First World War. The two graves are to the rear of the church on the right hand side.
The Ponthieu area was part of the Norman-English territories and both Edward III and Henry V passed by this way.
The Battlefield of Crécy of 1346 is eight kilometres away. A small museum in Crécy explains the details as well as those of the V1 Buzz Bomb launch site in the wood at nearby Ligescourt (sign posted twice from the D 938 — take the road nearest to Machiel village).
The forest of Crécy is a favourite place for walking and picnics.
